The CLUB Teen Center is located in our main Jennifer Loscher Branch. It offers youth members ages 13-18 a safe, fun environment with caring adult professionals, homework assistance, daily snack, sports leagues, leadership development opportunities, access to our Best Buy Teen Tech Center powered by Sony, and more. To register, submit a completed membership application to our Membership Desk at the main Jennifer Loscher Branch. The membership fee for youth entering 9th - 12th grade is $10.

Flexible drop-off & pick-up times between 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

While drop off and pick up times are flexible during camp hours, we recommend campers attend between 8:45am - 4:45pm for an optimal camp experience!

Cost

Middle School Camp (incoming 6th-8th graders in the 2025-2026 school year)

  • $100 per week
  • $60 annual membership (one-time) for the 2025-2026 membership period required for each child. Memberships must be renewed each year at the beginning of summer.

High School Camp (incoming 9th-12th graders in the 2025-2026 school year)

  • $10 annual membership for the 2025-2026 school year
  • High school students may attend camp at no additional cost in the Teen Center and Best Buy Teen Tech Center powered by Sony thanks to grant support.

Specialty Programs


Basketball Club: In Basketball Club, members will be able to learn fundamentals like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense through scrimmages and small activities that will allow members to learn. Members will also learn about sportsmanship, strategy, and how to gain confidence in the game they love.


Soccer Club: Throughout the summer, members will be able to refresh or keep on practicing their soccer skills in Soccer Club. They will have a chance to practice passing, dribbling, shooting, and goalkeeping, along with learning to work as a team. Each week members will get to engage in drills, teamwork challenges, and scrimmages.


Cooking Club: In Cooking Club, members will get to learn new recipes while learning and practicing important kitchen skills. They will also get to explore the nutrition side of the kitchen and how to maintain healthy habits while cooking tasty food.

Best Buy Tech Center


The Best Buy Teen Tech Center, powered by Sony, is a safe and creative space for teens ages 13–18 to explore the world of technology. Located in the Teen Center, is equipped with tools like a recording studio, video production equipment, computers, and more. Members can dive into hands-on, project-based learning in areas like graphic design, digital photography, sound and video production, and more. It’s a place to build skills, connect with mentors and peers, and get ready for the careers of the future.

What to Bring & Wear to Camp

  • Backpack to store any personal belongings or projects that members want to take home.
  • Refillable water bottle (youth will have access to filtered water bottle fillers throughout the facility).
  • Closed-toe shoes and socks (No sandals or Crocs).
  • Comfortable clothing suitable for active play and arts and crafts. A light jacket labeled with your camper's name is recommended for cooler mornings and late afternoons.
  • Personal electronics and toys should be left at home in order to prevent damage and/or loss.
  • Sunscreen - please apply before arriving at the Club. Additional sunscreen will be available throughout the day; however, members will need to apply their own sunscreen.
  • Campers may pack snacks that do not require refrigeration or heating. Free breakfast will be available at 7:30 am and lunch will be available at 11 am. Campers will have the option to participate in snack time at 3 pm.

Meals & Snacks

Any packed lunches or snacks should be ready to eat and should not require heating or refrigeration. We recommend using an insulated lunch bag with ice packs for perishable items. For safety reasons, we ask that food sharing is not allowed, and families should avoid packing peanuts or tree nuts.


Campers should also bring a refillable water bottle labeled with their name. Refill stations are available at the Clubhouse.

Breakfast: 8 am
Members who arrive at the Club by 8 a.m. will have the option to join us for breakfast, which will be provided by San Marcos Unified School District Child Nutrition Services as part of the Summer Food Program until Friday, Aug. 1.


Lunch: 11 am - 12 p.m
Lunch will be provided to members attending Summer Day Camp until Friday, Aug. 1, through the SMUSD Summer Food Program. Lunch WILL NOT be provided beginning Monday, Aug. 4, so members must pack a sack lunch that does not require heating or refrigeration.


Snacktime: 3 pm - 3:30 pm

Members are welcome to bring snack that does not require heating or refrigeration to enjoy in the afternoon. Snack will not be provided by the Club.

Add-On Field Trips (Teen Pick)

Field Trips will take place on Friday's every other week starting week 2. On Monday’s of the field trip week, members will vote on the location! Potential location would be the beach, movie theater, Safari Park, and more. Costs will vary from $15 to $40.

  • Will lunch and snack be provided?

    Daily breakfast and lunch will be provided as part of SMUSD’s Child Nutrition Services’ Summer Meals Program from June 16 through August 1. Club members will need to bring their own lunch starting August 4th.

  • Is financial assistance available?

    Financial assistance is available for eligible families through the Great Futures Scholarship Fund. To apply, a parent or guardian of the camper must complete a scholarship application and submit the required documents to daycamps@boysgirlsclubsm.org. Applications are processed on a weekly basis, and families are provided an update on their application status within 7 business days of submission. Once processed, approved discounts will be applied to the camper’s account at the time of registration.


  • Is there a cancellation policy?

    • Families must provide at least 7 days' notice before the start of a session or program to request a cancellation and receive a refund, if applicable.
    • A partial refund will be made for cancellations within the required timeframe, but processing fees may apply. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made less than 7 days before the session starts.
    • Refunds or credits will not be provided for missed days due to illness, personal reasons, or other absences.
    • Due to limited space and pre-arranged costs, cancellations for field trips are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
  • What does a typical day in the Teen Center?

    A typical day includes billiards, carpet ball, and foosball, DIY art projects, cooking and gaming, with access to the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, our maker space equipped with a state-of-the-art sound studio, laser engraver, 3D printers, t-shirt making equipment and more.

Career Pathways

Prepare for a Career in the 21st Century

Career Pathways is a workforce and college readiness program designed to expose students, to real-world experience in their fields of interest and access technology, career, and leadership opportunities while building skills for the future. Presented in collaboration with the Best Buy Foundation, Career Pathways is based out of the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos' Best Buy Teen Tech Center powered by Sony and aims to engage high school teens, ages 16 and up. Members participate in weekly workshops to explore and enhance communication skills, professionalism, and job readiness capacities, with opportunities to interact with professionals from the fields of their interest.
