The Arts

Programs in this core area enable youth members to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of visual arts, crafts, performing arts, and creative writing.

National Fine Arts Exhibit is designed to enable members, ages 6-18, to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through the visual arts. The exhibit has ten categories including monochromatic drawing, multicolored drawing, pastel, watercolor, oil/acrylic, printmaking, mixed media, collage, sculpture, and group project. This program also gives Clubs the ability to showcase the artwork of their Club members in the community.

Taste of the Arts is offered for elementary-school aged members at San Marcos Elementary, Joli Ann Leichtag Elementary, and La Mirada Academy in partnership with California Center for the Arts. The customized arts integration program invites an expert Teaching Artist into our afterschool programs to teach Math, Science, English Language Arts, or Social Studies through the visual or performing arts.
